The UL Fenestration Simulation Software Training is a two-day workshop developed by Dennis Anderson, Program Manager and Technical Leader for UL’s Building Envelope Performance Test Lab, intended for those seeking an introductory course in both the Berkeley Lab THERM and WINDOW programs that are used in accordance with NFRC procedures. The course introduces beginners to the software and is intended to prepare participants for third party software certification. Participants will learn to setup and properly use the software for determining a fenestration product’s U-factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, Visible Transmittance, and Condensation Resistance.
The software provides those in manufacturing the use of finite element analysis to determine heat gains/losses from fenestration products, which is critical for product research and design. Architects and consultants will gain the opportunity to identify fenestration product performance to meet building code requirements.
This course is AIA CES Approved. AIA members will receive 16 HSU Learning Units for participating in this instructor led training.
