This course reviews the terminology and situations associated with emergencies in the pipeline industry. Items such as incident reporting, first responder and hazardous materials specialists are included in the review. The course covers the components of an emergency response plan, such as isolating and securing an area around the emergency. Additional topics include: the identification of contaminates, assessment of risks and hazards, awareness of personal protection equipment and initiating the response plan.
