Introduction to Process Control


Description

This course defines process control and its importance. Methods of measuring temperature, pressure, flow, level, speed and temperature are examined. Types of devices such as valves, actuators and transducers are covered. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), pneumatic and electronic controllers are also defined. The course concludes with an overview of the types of protective systems that include: emergency shutdown (ESD), HazGas, fire eyes, overrides and relief valves.

Terms like fractionated, petrochemical, Natural Gas Liquids (NGL), scrubber, regenerator and separator are defined throughout this course.
