This course explains the history of pipeline regulations, the Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act and the events leading to the formation of the Federal Power Commission (FPC), the Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) and DOT. The “rule making function” of the DOT including enforcement, inspections, compliance, notices and warnings are also described.
Following an explanation of the major sections of Part 195 is a 30-question DOT inspection simulation covering compliance, operations, inspections, maintenance and documentation.
