Designing LED Luminaires for Compliance to UL1598 and UL8750

This workshop covers the fundamental construction and testing requirements for Luminaires listed under UL1598, with the emphasis on LED luminaires. It also includes an in-depth look at UL 8750, Standard for LED Equipment for Use in Lighting Products as it pertains to fixtures. Participants will develop knowledge and demonstrate how UL1598 requirements must be supplemented with specific requirements of UL 8750 to ensure compliance for LED luminaires. This comprehensive course introduces participants to valuable insight into the certification process such as knowing how to find Certification Requirement Decisions (CRDs), which have not yet been published into the Standard but supplements the certification process for fast changing technology like LED lighting. In addition, the workshop covers North American electrical installation requirements as defined within the U.S. NEC and Canadian (CEC) codes. There are no prerequisites required.
