Hazard-Based Safety Engineering Process


Description

The Hazard-Based Safety Engineering (HBSE) process is a straight-forward analysis based on the rules of energy conservation. You will learn the HBSE process of product evaluation by analysis of energy sources, transfer means and mitigation.

 

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Understand and apply the HBSE process to evaluate a product
  • Determine whether energy sources are hazardous
  • Analyze means by which energy sources may transfer to a body part
  • Determine safeguards specific to the source and transfer means
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of safeguards
