Six Sigma Green Belt Workshop with Lean Tools and Certification


Description

This Green Belt with Lean Tools workshop will enable participants to lead and contribute to quality and waste reduction improvement team projects. Participants will learn how to use the tools and templates of Six Sigma in a dynamic and active training environment. This workshop provides students with a practical understanding of the DMAIC model, a five-step process improvement methodology used around the world to increase efficiencies and customer satisfaction, and  the variety of Lean analytical tools that can be applied in a business to measure and improve efficiency in a dynamic and active training environment.   Participants also gain insight and understanding of how this methodology can be used in  conjunction with teamwork, lean analytical tools, quality tools, statistical tools and SigmaXL software to define, measure, analyze, improve and control a process. Participants will learn first-hand how the Six Sigma process design/redesign results in significant results for the team and for the organization.

In this week-long workshop, participants will gain the knowledge and ability to successfully lead and contribute to Green Belt projects that are focused on eliminating defects, increasing customer satisfaction, reducing costs and reducing variation. Green Belt Certification requires attending training, the completion of the Green Belt (GB) exam as well as the completion and review of a GB project.

Objectives

Upon completion, the participant will be able to:

  • Use the Lean Six Sigma methodology and improvement processes to drive business results
  • Use the tools of the DMAIC methodology, including how to select and define a project, how to determine baseline performance levels, how to identify root causes of problems, how to identify, select and test solutions and how to control performance of the improved process
  • Use the tools of Lean, including Root Cause Analysis, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Pull Systems, Takt time, Total Productive Maintenance, Poka Yoka and Kaizen
  • Use comparative methods tools
  • Build processes that are centered on customer requirements and that utilize performance and customer data to solve problems
  • Properly define, scope and work on Lean Six Sigma projects
  • Construct a Value Stream Map and apply the map to identify improvement opportunity
  • Learn to recognize waste and implement processes to reduce it
  • Incorporate a comprehensive set of quality tools for problem solving
  • Learn to mistake-proof a process to reduce rework
  • Apply SPC and visual process management to monitor the process
  • Use Sigma XL to enhance analysis for process improvement projects
