UL Certification to NFPA 2112 and ASTM F1506: Industrial Clothing Compliance- Recorded Webinar


This 45-minute webinar provides an introduction to NFPA 2112, Standard on Flame-Resistant Clothing for Protection of Industrial Personnel Against Short-Duration Thermal Exposures from Fire, ASTM F1506,  Standard Performance Specification for Flame Resistant and Electric Arc Rated Protective Clothing Worn by Workers Exposed to Flames and Electric Arcs, and the UL certification programs for these standards. Participants will gain a general understanding of the product standards, including design and performance requirements for industrial clothing and components. Learn how to navigate a certification project, annual certification requirements, and tips and tricks to streamline the certification process.

Presenter Biography

Amanda Newsom is a UL Staff Engineer and reviewer for first responder personal protective clothing and equipment certifications. She holds a Textile Engineering degree from North Carolina State University and worked in the Thermal Protection and Comfort Center while attending School. Amanda is a member of four National Fire Protection Association standards development committees and represents UL as a voting member on those committees. One of those committees includes Structural and Proximity Fire Fighting Protective Clothing and Equipment which is responsible for revisions to NFPA 1971.
