NFPA 780 and UL 96A - Lightning Protection Installation Standard Review


Please join us for UL’s lightning protection installation standard review workshop. This two-day workshop focuses on the key elements of NFPA 780 and its practical application. The workshop provides valuable insight on how NFPA 780 and UL 96A relate to each other. The course focuses on NFPA 780 chapters 1 through 6 and UL 96A applications and includes detailed guidance on general requirements, miscellaneous structures, special occupancies, and heavy duty stacks. and includes the military applications and non-ordinary structures found in NFPA 780. Calculation tools for determining a zone of protection is provided. Guidelines for developing inspection requests for explosive and flammable location applications is also covered. Students participate in critical discussions to determine the best protection strategies incorporating the guidance of NFPA 780.

Additionally, each participant will receive a classroom workbook and a copy of NFPA 780, Standard for the Installation of Lighting Protection Systems and UL 96A, Installation Requirements for Lightning Protection Systems ($950 USD Value).
