UL Safety Smart® Ambassador Tutorial

Description

Guided by Bill Nye, the Science Guy, the UL Safety Smart Ambassador tutorial will teach FRC students how to educate, engage and empower young children to practice safe, healthy and environmentally responsible behavior and introduce them to the Wild About Safety DVD series offered by UL. In this program you will learn about UL and our safety mission, why the Safety Smart Ambassador program is important, where to find the materials, how to conduct a Safety Smart event, and how to share reassuring, clear and confidence building messages about preventing and dealing with unsafe situations. You will learn to lead a Safety Smart event and become a UL Safety Smart Ambassador.

Objectives

As a UL Safety Smart Ambassador:

• Make a difference by engaging young children through community outreach.  What they see and learn first-hand through your efforts will stay with them forever and will hopefully guide them in their future actions.
• Encourage young children to practice safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible behavior.
• Share reassuring and confidence-building messages to help young children live a better life.
